Somewhere between the wheezing folding bike you never quite maintain and the 45 km/h performance scooter that turns every ride into a legal grey area sits a genuinely useful category: the mid-speed electric scooter for commuting. It is not trying to be a motorcycle. It is not trying to be a toy, either. It exists … Read more
Here’s the question that trips up almost every first-time buyer: does the number on the spec sheet actually matter once you’re standing at a red light in real traffic? A 25 km/h vs 32 km/h electric scooter decision sounds like a rounding error — seven kilometres an hour, who cares — until you realize that … Read more
Here’s the thing nobody tells you before your first ride: speed is terrifying long before it’s fun. That first wobble when the throttle kicks in, that split-second where your inner ear isn’t sure what’s happening — it’s the reason so many new riders buy a scooter that’s technically “fine” on paper and then never touch … Read more
Here’s the thing nobody tells you before you start shopping for 25 km/h electric scooters under $700 CAD: the speed number on the box is the least interesting spec in the entire listing. Here’s a scenario that plays out in condo hallways across Canada every single evening: someone hauls a 15-kilogram (33 lb) scooter into a tiny apartment, wrestles it past the coat rack, and props it against the wall next to an outlet that’s already fighting for space with a toaster and a phone charger. There’s a … Read more
If you’ve ever dragged a 50-pound scooter up three flights of stairs just to reach the only outlet in your apartment that isn’t already claimed by a lamp, a router, and a suspiciously ambitious air fryer, you already understand the problem this article solves. An electric scooter for apartment charging isn’t really about the scooter … Read more
There’s a very specific kind of dread that comes from watching a charging light blink orange at 7:45 a.m. while your bus pulls away outside.
